Sell Your Pics!

Submit Photos to Shutterstock and make $$$!

Hey,
Sorry I haven't been submitting pictures. A few weeks ago I quit my job to do what I want... which is take photos, not run a photo studio. Right after my last day I was taking pics at a birthday party and my shutter broke. So now I am broke, can't do a damned thing about it. Yes, I renewed my warranty this year, so it will be fixed for free.
So in the meantime I am going thru all my pics and deciding what to do with them. I also have been working on my biz site, [link] and playing with Photoshop Elements that I found in my room, still in the package. I had taken some RAW pictures to save for a rainy day so I've been playing with those, too.
I have also photographed a few weddings (as an assistant) to see if I really want to do that or now... because I always thought I wouldn't. Turns out taking wedding pictures rocks and I am good at it! So starting in October I'll be doing budget weddings to build my equiptment.
So anyway... I found this really cool (legitimate) site where you can sell your photos. Please check it out, it seems like a good way to make some extra cash.

There's another cool site I found called Happy News where you can sell articles and pictures of news stories, as long as they are happy. [link]

Cool :) Jetta's rule :D My brother had an '02 TDI and has already put over 150K on it... and it keeps on running :) He says he wants to be in a VW commercial when it rolls over to 500K (or maybe it was 300K)

Nice work on the website, Gallery is a great engine. I still need to finish kaylamaries, and then I'm starting work on a photo site of my own, but more towards selling prints. I'm still going to set it up so it can be used for portrait work... just incase :D

I'll race you on the last one :) ... regardless of who gets there first, we both win :D ... competition is a great driving force.

gallery 2 does have a shopping cart module which is compatible with a plugin you can get off their site to sell prints. you can mark them up to whatever you want and the company that does it uses silver processing. i already tried it and it seems to work, i just can't figure out how to get the samples to "not" be for sale.

Cool, I may have to check it out then. I was planning on building mine from the ground up, but if Gallery has what I need then I'm running with it.

One function that I will need is a 'Client Login'. So if I do decide to do portraits, I can upload them to the site and forward the client a login where they can just go to the site and pick their shots and packages. I already have some gallery base code on kaylamaries that does this and had planned on using that do build mine... but we'll see :) I'd love to have something that has all the code already written :D

it's in there. i have tested that as well. in fact, i have private albums in there already. if you happen to figure out how to turn off the shopping cart feature in some albums, please let me know. that's all i need as far as functionality.
:iconmetagore:
Sure will, I probably won't get to play around with it until Wednesday though.
:iconkozmix:
a big thx for the feature =D
